At Double Check, we have around a dozen trained technology specialists, expert in interview technique who interview as a pair, trained to get to the truth from candidates in a way that will give you useful detail that goes beyond any CV. Here are a few quick biographies of some of us.
Ross M Hind - Founder - Object Oriented Programming including Java / Agile Management / Javascript Frameworks / Automated Test
During practice and feedback sessions that regularly extended long into the night, Ross first learned interview technique while studying psychology at the age of seventeen. Continuing the psychology theme, he went on to study animal behavior and behavioral ecology at university. After graduating, Ross studied Information technology at postgraduate level and discovered his talent for software development. A career spanning over twenty years in programming and related areas began. During that time Ross worked in many companies large and small, built his skill set and kept up to date with emerging technology. Almost everywhere he worked, Ross would be involved in the candidate assessment process. Ross' reputation traveled until he was approached in 2017 by a well known North East recruitment agency who were looking to build a capable team for placement at the Department for Work and Pensions. He decided to take the plunge and combine his three passions, psychology, software development and business, thus, Double Check Interviews was born.
Karl Scott - Senior Assessor - Testing & Quality Control
Karl is a very experienced and well respected software tester with over 15 years experience in all types of testing. He is a fantastic edition to the team at Double Check, he has dedicated a large part of his life to the psychology of influence and is an accomplished mentalist and magician. He is a prominent figure in the north east magic community and can often be found performing shows and feats of influence in north east venues. He has spent his much of his life becoming very familiar with the ways in which people can seek to influence others and how this can be brought to the interview process. Karl epitomizes the combined skills necessary to be a Double Check Senior Interviewer.
Samuel Ferguson - Senior Assessor - Test Management / Testing / Automation Testing
Sam rose through the management chain at an early age and became a knowledgeable Test Lead. Unlike some in the role, Sam's contracting career has seen him develop multiple specialisms, running his own testing company and also becoming expert in automation testing Lead Automation & Performance Architecture and running Lean / agile based teams. Often running multiple contracts simultaneously, Sam's knowledge borders on intimidating, personally though, Sam is one of the nicest people you could hope to meet. He has been trained in interview technique with Double Check and is an expert assessor.
